Scott Leggatt Foursomes East & South East Qualifier Rules

LANCASHIRE LADIES' COUNTY GOLF ASSOCIATION

SCOTT LEGGATT (COUNTY FOURSOMES COMPETITION) ("HILDA LEGGATT" CHALLENGE CUP)

Open to Members of the LLCGA. Subscriptions must be paid before taking part in the Home Qualifying Round. Every
Competitor must provide proof of handicap on the days of the Divisional and County Finals – penalty for breach – disqualification.

1. This Competition is a "one ball per couple" Foursomes Competition (Stableford) and the handicap allowed is half the combined Handicap Index of the two players, not to exceed 30.0 on the date of the club qualifier. In the event that half the combined Handicap Index exceeds 30.0 at either the Divisional or County Final, the couple may take part, but must play off half a combined Handicap Index of 30.0
2. A player may choose her own partner who must also be a member of the same club and must play with the same partner throughout the Competition.
3. Players belonging to more than one club must notify the Hon. Treasurer which club she wishes to represent for all County Competitions.
4. Members of the County who are not members of an Associated Club shall be permitted to qualify on application to the Divisional Executive Representative.
5. A Qualifying Round MUST be played on the home course and the number of couples to qualify from each club will be:
ONE couple per every 20 members of the County Association provided that a club with less than 40 county members shall always be entitled to send two couples. E.g. if a club has 75 members of the County Association it would be entitled to send three couples to the Divisional Final.
6. Divisional Finals will be played on a course in the Division. The number of couples to qualify from Divisional Finals to County Finals shall be one fifth of the couples actually playing in each Divisional Final.
7. Qualifiers must be reported by 21st May 2021. It would be helpful if Ladies' Secretaries would send in their returns on the attached form as soon as the Qualifying Round has been played.
8. Prize vouchers will be given for the first, second and third best scores at the County Final and for Divisional Final winners.
There will be no presentation at Divisional Finals; all prizes will either be awarded at the County Finals or sent to the winners.
9. The Divisional Finals will be played as follows:

Monday 7th June - East & South East Divisions at Denton Golf Club
Monday 7th June - South West Division at Dean Wood Golf Club
Wednesday 9th June - North West Division at Longridge Golf Club

10. In the event that any of the Divisional Finals are unable to be played on the date arranged, a draw will take place on the same day to determine which couples will go forward to the County Finals.
11. The County Final will be played at Formby Ladies Golf Club on Friday 9th July 2021.
12. Ties in the County Final will be decided on the last 9, 6, 3 or 1 holes.
13. The entrance fee for this Competition shall be £3.00 per couple at the home club qualifying round. The £5.00 per couple for all couples who qualify for the Divisional Final should also be paid by the club and should be sent together with the qualifying return to the County Secretary as shown overleaf. So if, for example, 30 couples entered the home qualifying round, the amount paid for the entrance fee would be £90. In addition, if 5 couples were allowed to qualify for the Divisional Final, a further £25 would be required from the club for those 5 couples. A total of £115 would therefore be sent on the qualifying return to the County Secretary
14. Players unable to play at the County Finals MUST DECLARE this to their Divisional Representatives no later than the day of the Divisional Finals, as there will be no substitutes after the Divisional Finals. In the event of the County Final being rearranged no substitutes will be permitted.
