Introduction to Golf Days 2012

Girls, parents and County officials battled through the snow and M62 traffic problems to get to the first Introduction to Golf Day held at Manchester GC on Wednesday 04 April with Scott Connor. 15 girls aged from 9 to 16 from clubs as far away as Southport Old Links and Ashton-in-Makerfield and neighbouring Oldham, New North Manchester and Cromption & Royton GCs spent time in the state of the art video studio getting help from Scott and hearing from County officials about what the Lancashire Girls' Golf Association can offer new players.

The second Introduction to Golf day was held on 12 April at Samlesbury Golf Centre, Preston with PGA Professional Jane Forrest in warm sunshine. There were 3 sessions for 25 girls from all over Lancashire. The age span was from 6 to 20.

Most of the girls are now looking forward to taking part in the 9 hole competitions at Hart Common Golf Club's par 3 course. The first of these is on Suday 29 April, details shown above.
