Hollie Muse wins her place at Faldo European Final
Hollie Muse (West Lancashire) won the Faldo Series Under18s Girls' qualifying round at West Lancashire GC. Her winning score of 158 gross secures her place at the UK Finals to be played again at Loch Erne Resort (Faldo course) in September.
It was a "double" for the home club with Louis Tomlinson winning the Boys' qualifying round.

14 year old Eloise Healey's (West Lancashire) 72 hole total of 306 earned her 4th= place in the Girls' Fairhaven Trophy for junior players.

Gemma Batty wins place at 16th Faldo Series Final
Gemma Batty (St Annes Old Links) won the Faldo Series Under18s Girls' qualifying round at Trentham GC. Her winning score of 153 gross wins her a place at the UK Finals to be played again at Loch Erne Resort (Faldo course) in September.
The next qualifying round is at the West Lancashire GC on 10 + 11 May.

Tiger Cub (Under 12s) Junior Open Golf Tournament
The Tiger Cub (Under 12s) Junior Open Tournament is open to girls and boys aged under 12 on 31 December 2011 who have a CONGU handicap. It is 2 day tournament of 36 holes stroke play, 18 holes each day.
There are 4 regional qualifying competitions, the North's will be held at South Moor GC, County Durham on 04 + 05 June. Entries close on 21 May and the Entrance Fee is £25.
The Grand Final will be held at Newark GC, Nottinghamshire on 25 + 26 October.

Lancashire girls play in Scottish Under 16s Championship Erin and Sophie
8 Lancashire players were part of an international field of low handicap golfers who competed in the Scottish Under 16s Open Championship at Strathmore Golf Centre, Perthshire. In cold, difficult conditions Sophie Lamb (Clitheroe) and Erin Porter (Blackpool North Shore) had 2 scores in the 70s. Emma Harris (Peel) was a member of the England squad there. Lancashire's other players were Eloise Healey, Hollie Muse, Louisa Brunt, Emily Shae and Katie-Jane Stanley.

Calling golfing Fathers and Daughters
Ta Tadmarton Heath dmarton GC, Banbury, Oxfordshire, are holding their 2012 Fathers and Daughters Open Competition on Saturday 8 September.
It is a 27 holes scratch competition with nett prizes as well for daughters of all ages, not just juniors. Last year's daughters ages ranged from 16 to 50.
Silverdale GC's Ian Hunter and Sarah Cousins are the current title holders.

Emily loses in 2nd round of French Under 21s
Emily Taylor (Royal Lytham) lost on the last green in the second match play round of the French Lady Juniors' Championship at St Cloud GC, Paris to Germany's Quirine Eijkenboom.
In the first round Emily had to go to the 21st hole before she defeated Julie Finne-Ipson from Denmark.

Entries close for this Championship on Friday 13 April. Please note this is now a stroke play event all the way through.

PGC The Pleasington Putter will be held on Sunday 01 July. Janette Smart is again running the competition and will be pleased to receive entries from players with a maximum playing handicap of 12 before 13 June. Junior players very welcome!

Paris Emily's team wins Vilmorin Trophy in French Under 21s
Emily Taylor (Royal Lytham) followed her first round score of 69 with a superb 68 in the second round of the French Lady Juniors' Championship at St Cloud GC, Paris. Emily finished with four consecutive birdies to finish third overall at 5 under par. Emily was part of the three strong England (2) team that won the Vilmorin Cup with a score of 274 (the best two scores from three counting in each round). Georgia Hall and Meghan MacLaren were the other two members of the victorious team and Bronte Hall was the top qualifier after a play off with Spain's Silvia Banon.
The top 32 players qualify to contest the Esmond Trophy and Emily will begin with a first round match against Julie Finne-Ipson from Denmark.

Kelly Tidy (Royal Birkdale) has been selected for the Great Britain and Ireland team for the 37th Curtis Cup match against the United States of America to be played at Nairn GC from 08-10 June.

Chicks Training Day

Lancashire's Chicks Squad enjoyed their second training session at Samlesbury Golf Centre with Jane Forrest. This squad is made up mainly of girls who attended last year's Introduction to Golf Days. The first group now have Congu handicaps from 34-22 and compete in Lancashire competitions including the Junior Jamboree. The second group have no handicaps yet but can play in the 9 hole competitions at Hart Common GC.

British College Sport National Golf Championship
Lucy Mellor Bates (Lytham Green Drive) representing Cardinal Newman College, finished a creditable 14th= in the Individual and 12th= in the Ladies' Championship in the British College Sport National Championship played at the National Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa.
Lucy, one of the highest handicap players in the event opened with a 4 over par 77 nett on the tough Hotchin Course. Her second round of 71 nett was 1 under par on the Bracken Course.

Volunteers wanted for Road to the Open project
Are you aged between 18 and 25 and interested in being a volunteer for the Road to the Open project at the Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St Annes GC in July?
This project that aims to bring new golfers into the game was run successfully last year for the first time in Kent.

As the 2011 Faldo Series Girls' Overall Champion Brogan Townend (Pleasington) has been invited to play at Mission Hills GC, China, in the 6th Faldo Series Asia Grand Final from 14 - 16 March. She went there is 2009 as their UK Under 16s Champion.

The closing date for 2012 Faldo Series entries has been extended by 1 week to Friday 02 March. All players born in 1991 or later are encouraged to enter, handicap limit 12. The West Lancashire GC will again be hosting a qualifying competion on 10/11 May.

Eloise Healey (West Lancashire) is currently 3rd in the Under 16s event, with Emily Shea (Fairhaven) and Sophie Lamb (Clitheroe) moving up to 6th and 7th.

Emily Taylor wins Murcia Ladies' Championship

In cold windy weather Emily Taylor (Royal Lytham) became the Murcia Ladies' Open Champion. Her score of 74-74-148 beat Nikki Foster (Pleasington) by 2 shots at the Hacienda Del Alamo Winter Festival.
Amelia Taylor (St Annes Old Links) was the Under 18s Handicap winner and Eloise Healey (West Lancashire) finished 3rd in the Under 16s Handicap event.
The Taylors, Amelia and Emily, team up tomorrow in the Valentines Pairs (4 ball better ball) while other players have a rest day before the Hacienda Open competitions start on Thursday.

Emily Emily Taylor and Brogan Townend in England Under 21s team for Paris

Emily Taylor (Royal Lytham) and Brogan Townend (Pleasington) both aged 17, are part of the 10 strong England Team selected for the French Lady Junior Championships (Under 21 years) to be played at St Cloud GC, Paris from 05-09 April 2012.
This included the Vilmorin Trophy, their Nations Trophy.
