Captain's Message

'We move closer to one of our major events, the Lancashire Ladies' County Championship. We are fortunate to be hosting this event at The West Lancashire Golf Club in their Ladies 125th Anniversary year. 
We encourage all our members, up to a handicap of 15.4 to enter this event. There are 32 qualifying places available, for the Championship and the Plate competitions.
It is a fantastic opportunity to play this great golf course.

More England Nations's Cup honours for Sophie Lamb and Hollie Muse
England
Sophie Lamb (Clitheroe) is part of the team of 3 to represent England at the WelshFairhaven Women's Stroke Play Championship at Conwy GC from 29 April to 01 May. England Golf Press Release
At the same time Hollie Muse (West Lancashire) is selected for England Team 1 in the Fairhaven Trophy. Last year Hollie was part of this team that won the Nation's Cup.

Top 10 finish for Beth Garton in Scottish Helen Holm Championship
Helen HBeth Garton (Royal Lytham) played some excellent golf to finish in 7= place in a truly Helen Holminternational field in the Scottish Women's Open Stroke Play Championship (Helen Holm) played at Royal Troon GC. After rounds of 74 and 72 on their Portland Course she had a final round of 77 on Royal Troon, the 2016 Open Championship venue. County players Hollie Muse, Louisa Brunt, Eloise Healey and Georgia Coughlin also qulaified for the final day.

LGGA Spring Meeting

JanetteThe Spring Meeting was held at Rochdale GC . The wintry conditions did notwinners stop the girls returning some excellent scores in both events.
We were pleased to welcome new players along with our regular competitors.
The Stroke Play competition winner, on her 'debut', was Eva Brunskill (Hillside) 79-12-67.
In second place was Emily James (Rossendale) 88-17-71. Par 71 CSS 71. 
The Stableford competition was won by Holly Stephenson (Accrington) with 47 points. Jessie Nelligan (The Lodge), another new player, took second place on a card play off with Jessica Picton (Hart Common). They both had 43 points. Par 71 CSS 69

The Lancashire Girls' Golf Association AGM followed the prize presentation.
Lancashire Captain 2015, Brenda Flett came to present the following trophies for last year's competitions.

North Region Close  Championship 
Tuesday 2nd  August  2016   36 Hole Stroke Play   Ponteland Golf Club

EG'This one day competition is the amalgamation of what was previously the three day Ladies' Championship and the one day Girls' Championship.
Both will now take place on the same day at the same place, Ponteland Golf Club in Northumberland.
The Closing date for entries is 15th July. The handicap limit is 20.
As you will see from the Entry form there are several prizes in different age groups to play for.
Please encourage your Ladies to compete as last year the field was very small in both the Girls and Ladies competitions, which is why we have amalgamated them.' England Golf North

England Golf Club Team Championship

LancasterLancaster Golf Club will host the North Regional qualifying competition on Sunday 03 July for this England Golf club team event comprising two men and two women over the age of 18 with competition "c" handicaps.
The combined team handicap must range between 50 and 96.
The format is a team Stableford (3/4 handicap) in which the best two scores from four Frilford Heathcountper hole.
The top
six teams from the four regional events will qualify for the Grand Final at Frilford Heath GC on Monday 08 August.
A percentage of all entry fee income will be donated to the England Golf Trust.
