Kelly Tidy (Royal Birkdale) finished in second place after the final round of Azores Ladies' Open, a Ladies' European Tour Access Series 54 hole event being played at Campo de Golf de Batalia, Sao Miguel Island. Val Moran (Formby Ladies') was elected County Captain for 2012, with Jane McMunn (Ashton & Lea and Lancaster) as Vice Captain and Angela Caton (Pleasington) as President. |

23 November 2011  Pleasington GC finish 3rd in Mail on Sunday Finals Pleasington beat Northampton by 3 matches to 2 in The Mail on Sunday Classic 18 holes Ladies' play-off for 3rd place at El Rompido Golf Complex in Southern Spain. In close Final Ganton beat Aldeburgh by 3 matches to 2 to win the 2011 title. |

24 November 2011  Final results in Abu Dhabi Brogan Townend (Pleasington) and Elizabeth Stebbings (Wilpshire) finished 6th and 7th after the final round of the Abu Dhabi Junior Championship (Daily Telegraph Young Golfer of the Year). Hayley Davis (Ferndown) retained the Girls' title. |

16 November 2011 England Golf Merger approved
The merger of the English Golf Union (EGU) and the English Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) was approved today (16 November 2011) at simultaneous general meetings of both organisations.The merger will come into effect on 1 January 2012 and will create England Golf, one national governing body to represent all amateur golfers in England.VotingLadies Resolution 1 - unanimous yes Resolution 2 unanimous yes.Resolutions 3-7 100% yes.

31 October 2011 LLCGA 2011 Council Meeting Lancashire Lady Golfers vote overwhelmingly for the merger of the EGU and the EWGA.
At todays’ Council Meeting of the Lancashire Ladies’ County Golf Association the Lancashire clubs voted on the proposed merger of the 2 Governing Bodies of golf. This vote will now go to the EGM of the EWGA being held in Birmingham on 16th November. The Council meeting also heard the reports from the Executive Committee, the Shields Committee, the Treasurer and the Northern EWGA Representative. Other than the merger there were no other propositions to discuss and vote on. There were however, several issues raised under AOB for the Executive to act upon. It was a very well attended meeting which reflects the interest and enthusiasm amongst our members for the sport. Its’ importance cannot be stressed too highly. It is the clubs opportunity to raise issues with the Executive and Club Delegates are strongly advised to attend or send a deputy. Another date for your Diary. Wednesday 30th November is the AGM. This will be held at Wellington Park at 11am. At this meeting we will hear the Captains’ Report, elect our future Executive Committee and present all the Trophies played for this year. 27 October 2011 Eloise Healey awarded GP Roberts Trophy 14 year old Eloise Healey, a member of West Lancashire and Lee Park Golf Clubs, has been awarded the GP Roberts Trophy by the Southport and District Golf Association. She represents Lancashire in the County B and Junior teams. Read more ...

Her inspiring talk covered many subjects including the help she had received from other golfers, speech writers and psychologists. |

26 September 2011  Hindley Hall reach Daily Mail Foursomes Finals Hindley Hall's Maureen Ashurst and Rita Coop beat Crompton & Royton's Noreen Nicholson and Zoe Styles to reach the Daily Mail Foursomes Finals to be played at the Marriott Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club near Edinburgh, in October. 16 couples from all over Britain will compete for the prestigious trophy in 2 day's of knock-out match play. |

22 September 2011 Megan Cullen wins National Skills Test Megan Cullen (Heysham) won the 12-14 Age Group title in the EGU/EWGA 2011 National Skills Finals at the EGU National Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa. Two other Lancashire girls won through to the Finals. Thiari Naing (West Lancashire) was in the Rookie Class for 9-11 year olds and Courtney Milburn (Heysham) who was a winner in 2010, was in the 15-17 Age Group. Read more ... Lancashire beat Sussex, Gloucestershire and Northamptonshire, lost to Lincolnshire and halved their match with Hertfordshire.

15 September 2011 Elizabeth and Brogan to play in Abu Dhabi  Elizabeth Stebbings (Wilpshire) and Brogan Townend (Pleasington) have qualified for the Daily Telegraph Young Golfer of the Year 2011 Finals. The 54 hole event will be played at Abu Dhabi GC from 22-24 November. Brogan tops the Leaderboard with her score of -6 at Wilpshire GC and Elizabeth qualifies with her round of -3 at Fleetwood GC |

Brogan Townend (Pleasington) was crowned the Faldo Series Girls' Champion at Lough Erne GC when she finished with a final round of 71 to win the European Grand Final by 5 shots. Lora retires from Ladies' European Tour Lora Fairclough has finished playing on the European Ladies' Tour. Since turning Professional in 1991 after a wonderful Amateur career she has had many successes and over 50 top 10 finishes in LET events. Kelly Tidy (Royal Birkdale) finished off a "hat trick" of singles wins with an eagle when she beat Gillian O'Leary by 2&1.
